  • To me, a large part of a program’s success is reflected by the students own evaluations. We have had students evaluate the Kuder® Career Planning System (KCPS), and more that 95 percent feel it has benefited them and that they will use this valuable resource on their own. Personally, I have been involved in Career Education for 32 years and I have never experienced this type of enthusiastic student response.   • A major component of the Kuder® system is that it has been built around Iowa’s six Career Pathways. This adaptation by Kuder demonstrates a commitment to our state and a commitment to change future options to meet the needs for our students in Iowa.

    Kuder not only offers a web-based program, but they offer different levels of curriculum for High School students and Middle School students. The Develop Your Future curriculum is helpful to the classroom teacher for building career plans and helping to make a personal connection with students and teachers.

    With Iowa’s new legislative requirements for the 4-3-3-3 plan and 8th grade individual career plan, Kuder was again a leader in providing the means to meet this legislation. With their database management system, the Charles City Community School District students can complete their individual career plans online and update them as changes take place. This is another example of Kuder’s ability to adapt and change to meet our needs.

    I would highly recommend the Kuder system for all students. It is in opportunity for our students to grow, build a future, and be successful in our global economy.

  • I just love the Kansas Career Pipeline, powered by Kuder®! It is one of the best teaching tools I use, and it is FREE and easy to access. My students have found it to be very beneficial as they start the application process for scholarships and summer jobs. They appreciate having the data already populated for them and are using the knowledge they gained about themselves through the assessments in the cover letters they write.
    My students also find it exciting to see the number of careers that are reflected by their assessment results. They are in awe of the way that the careers they are interested in are link in this system to colleges across the nation. As each student revisits the web site, they are always finding new features they didn’t use the last time. They you for this teaching tool – you make my job so much easier!

Through Missouri Connections , students and adults will have web-based tools and resources for meaningful educational and career planning, and job placement.   • With the Kuder® system (KCPS) approach, there is a great increase in students who use career planning tools, and they’re not just going through the motions. With the 16 Career Clusters, students can see their choices narrowed, and the ways that career and tech education will give them jobs to pay their way through higher education, should they continue on that path. Additionally, I work with a lot of construction-type industries. It’s a huge job field here, and we are able to provide a large pool of potential employees. In looking at aggregate results from the KCPS database, we can tailor career fairs and employer visits to our students’ interests.

  • At Bolton High School, the Tennessee College and Career Planning System (TCCPS), powered by Kuder®, is utilized by students in the required Personal Finance class. At the beginning of the semester, several days are designated to introducing the TCCPS, helping students register, and taking the Kuder® Career Search and Kuder® Skills Assessments. Then, students go on a ‘scavenger hunt’ that allows students to further explore the system and its many resources. A major part of this assignment requires students to explore and identify an occupation that corresponds with a career cluster that ranked high on their assessment scores. Once an occupation is chosen, they use the TCCPS to find a local business where that occupation is performed and interview a person in that occupation.
    After several weeks of assessments, research, and interviews, the TCCPS connects students with adults in the workforce in their field of interest and is a valuable tool for helping them decide on majors, colleges, and careers. For students who did not have a career path in mind before beginning the lesson, the TCCPS has proven to help give them a starting place for researching career fields and specific occupations. The TCCPS is a highly effective resource for creating a realistic picture of career and income expectations. Once students have completed these activities and this class, they are better equipped to find occupations that align with their skills and interests, and have discovered first-hand what it takes to be successful in that specific industry.

  • I feel the most significant use of the Kuder® system is the in-depth research which enables students' to obtain important information regarding career ladder pathways, college majors, college/university matches and other information to build a specific student portfolio. Several career and technology teachers require such a document as part of their students' education. By utilizing the Kuder system, each student gathers their assessment results, creates a career ladder for career advancement, determines education levels to reach for career advancement, and even researches the amount of potential income they can earn.
