We’re pleased to announce that the National Urban League is our latest client to be featured in a Kuder success story video. We recently spent a day at the Urban League of Rochester, where the Project Ready Post-Secondary Success Program, powered by Kuder® helps the affiliate’s middle school and high school students prepare for the future.

While we were there, program leaders and students welcomed us into their learning environment and shared how they’ve successfully implemented the Kuder system into their program that employs evidence-based standards and practical tools to help prep African American and other urban youth ready for college, work, and life.

The video features Darlene Marlin, senior director with the National Urban League, who describes the system’s role in the Project Ready program and the impact it has on students. During our conversation with Marlin, she explained that the organization’s focus has expanded from college access to career readiness: “No longer is the question about whether students are transitioning from high school to college; we are looking at students completing college and [transitioning] into careers.”

“We are saying we have the golden ticket for transitioning them, readying them for college,” she said. “But are they finishing college? Are they in the careers of choice? I think this is where we need to be, and that’s why Kuder is helping us.”

The video also features interviews with Urban League of Rochester staff members Shelia James and Olivia Bacot, and 10th-grade student Naojah Anderson.
