Alabama Ensures College and Career Readiness

The Alabama State Department of Education partners with Kuder to deliver a comprehensive system that meets their unique academic requirements and college and career readiness standards.

Project Overview

The State of Alabama Department of Education (ALSDE) selected Kuder in 2010 to develop a comprehensive statewide online career planning system for students in grades 6 through 12. ALSDE soon developed PLAN 2020 as its strategic plan. The goal? Preparing all students to be successful in college and/or career upon graduation from high school. Today, Kuder serves as a PLAN 2020 support system that helps secondary students successfully prepare for the future.

“Kuder was able to meet our needs for our new diploma requirements, but also allow our students at the school level to pursue and explore certain courses that are only available to them locally. That’s made the ACPS very powerful.”

Direct Your Future

Direct Your Future

Our curriculum enables Alabama educators and counselors to guide secondary students through the career planning process. Lesson plans, resource files, classroom activities, and homework assignments help teachers, career coaches, and school counselors support students' ability to connect classwork to the world of work.

A parent's perspective.

Rachel Turner, mom of two Alabama high school students, says the ACPS has made them "more excited about the possibilities for their future." Turner says the system is setting them up for success: "I don’t want my children to do what I did. I don’t want them to graduate high school and the next day wake up and say, 'Now what am I going to do?' and waste very important time and money."
