Spring Forward

Spring is in the air! Last weekend, daylight savings time forced many of us to spring ahead by advancing the clock by one hour; students across the country are enjoying their annual spring break (or will be very soon); and the first official day of spring — March 20 — is right around the corner.

The new season presents a great opportunity think about how to move forward in a career. Whether you’re a job seeker or content in your current position, this is the right time to revisit what you know, learn something new, enhance a skill, or expand your network. 

1. Self-assess.

A simple way to advance your career is the occasional self-assessment. A little honest evaluation can help accelerate progress toward previously established goals, brush up on skills or technical capabilities, expand your professional network, and more. 2. Make the career and physical health connection.

If you’ve become accustomed to burning the candle at both ends, it may be time to take steps toward breaking that mindset or behavior. Sure there are times when, in order to meet a deadline, you have to put in unusually long hours. We’ve all been there.
