With over half of the world's population under the age of 30, there are more young people in the world than ever. International Youth Day celebrates youth motivation and energy, and recognizes the role young people play in enhancing peace and development throughout the world.
“Young people will increasingly own the problems of the coming decades; but they will also own the solutions,” said Kathy Calvin, President and CEO of the United Nations Foundation, in the article “On International Youth Day, Celebrate the Power of Youth”.
