We are excited to share that the Alabama Career Planning System (ACPS), powered by Kuder®, will be expanding to include our elementary career awareness program, Kuder Galaxy®.

The Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) and Kuder have held a successful partnership to help educators work one on one with students to determine what they like and what they don’t like so they don’t go into a career unprepared. In addition, the ACPS continues to help students visualize their careers and gives them the tools they need to get there.

Teachers and counselors develop a plan of action, ensuring that the classes students take in middle school and high school are tied to the careers they may want to pursue. Kuder has made these education plans customizable for Alabama students.

These customizable plans have proven that you don’t have to be an all-star athlete or valedictorian to shine. Galaxy aligns with the ALSDE’s overall K-12 career development framework included in Alabama’s State Strategic Plan. ALSDE designed the career development framework to provide all K-12 students enrolled in the Alabama educational system with the necessary knowledge, skills, and desire to be engaged, employable citizens.

The ALSDE is committed to providing resources and partnerships with businesses and industries that expose students to careers and initiatives that impact the economy in Alabama. We are proud to be instrumental in this partnership.

“At Kuder, we value our long and rich history in supporting the college and career planning process for Alabama students across the state. I am proud to continue to partner with ALSDE and support the expansion to elementary as we know early career awareness is critical for career planning in middle school, high school, and beyond. I am extremely excited to see what the future holds for the Alabama Career Planning System and credit the team at ALSDE on their commitment to excellence for education across the state.”

John Milroy, Vice President of Client Relations

The addition of Galaxy will allow young students to explore the world of work early in their growth and developmental stages. The program centers around children’s curiosity as they interact with seven levels of games, videos, activities, and rewards. Galaxy is an inclusive pre-K through grade five system that features an outer space theme to promote equity and avoid racial and gender bias and stereotypes. Galaxy also supports both English and Spanish speakers and incorporates audio throughout the system for young learners.

Review the onboarding plan to see when your school will be receiving Galaxy, or attend one of our upcoming overviews of Kuder Galaxy to learn more.
