The HRchat podcast most recently featured Kuder chairman and CEO, Phil Harrington, and Kuder’s senior vice president of career planning and development, Dr. Spencer Niles, as they offered their expert opinions on tools and resources that HR professionals can utilize to successfully elevate employee wellbeing as well as career development.

Harrington kicks off the conversation by stating the Kuder vision of the last 24 years, which is to help people discover and achieve what they want to be. He goes on to explain that there is a constant need to assist people in the workforce who are unhappy with their current career path, are unsure what path to follow, or are one of the millions of individuals who have been impacted by unemployment or underemployment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout the episode, Harrington and Dr. Niles continue to cover the topic of job uncertainty and how individuals can maintain a sense of hopefulness during this stressful experience. Dr. Niles presents the idea that workers need to take a, “systematic approach to managing their careers, to taking responsibility for their career and knowing how to do that.”

Unfortunately, many people do not have this system in place currently, which is where the role of HR becomes absolutely critical. Today’s HR professionals are essential to providing research-based tools and resources like those included in Hope Central® to help individuals in the workforce navigate their career path in a succinct, systematic way.
