In an interview with NewsOK, Marcie Mack, director of the Oklahoma State Board of Career and Technology Education, discussed the state's approach to growing its workforce.
Oklahoma is taking a multipronged approach that involves career-tech partnerships with business and industry leaders and a statewide online career planning system, OKCareerGuide.org, which is powered by Kuder and is available to students in grades six through 12, postsecondary students, and adults.
Mack said, “OkCareerGuide.org provides individuals – whether they're in an education setting now or if they're in the workforce and want to update their skills –[the ability to] utilize this tool to look at various careers in the state and the skill sets it takes to meet that career.”
The system has attracted 20,000 new users since its launch in August.
