Career Readiness Designed for Kentucky Schools

Built to Support Kentucky College and Career Readiness Requirements

Kentucky requires every student in grades 6 through 12 to develop and maintain an Individual Learning Plan (ILP), a state-defined framework for advising students and guiding them through coursework and experiences aligned to college and career success.

ILPs must begin within the first 90 days of 6th grade, be updated annually, and include career exploration, academic planning, and postsecondary preparation. By 8th grade, each ILP must define learning goals and identify courses aligned to a student’s academic and career interests. Graduation requirements also require students to complete career-aligned coursework and demonstrate readiness through approved indicators such as ACT benchmarks, dual credit, or industry credentials.

Kuder Navigator provides a unified platform Kentucky districts can use to manage Individual Learning Plans, support advising processes, track student progress, and document readiness outcomes across schools.

Students engage in structured career development beginning in middle school. Educators guide meaningful advising conversations and pathway decisions. District leaders gain real-time visibility into ILP completion, readiness indicators, and system-wide outcomes.

"The kind of guided career exploration that Navigator supports helps students see that career paths aren’t always linear, they can create their own unique journey."
