Missouri’s college and career readiness framework is centered on the Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP), a multi-year personal plan of study established under SB 638 and defined in state law RSMo 167.903. The ICAP guides students through coursework and career-related experiences aligned to their postsecondary goals, including workforce, military, technical training, or college pathways.
ICAP begins no later than 8th grade and must include career exploration, academic planning, and a sequence of courses aligned to a student’s goals. Students update their plans regularly as they refine interests, select pathways, and prepare for graduation and postsecondary success. Missouri also promotes career pathways and real-world learning experiences, including internships, apprenticeships, and employer partnerships, to support readiness outcomes.
Kuder Navigator provides a unified platform Missouri districts can use to manage ICAP implementation, support career exploration, track pathway progress, and document work-based learning experiences across schools.
Students engage in structured career development from middle school through graduation. Educators guide planning conversations and pathway decisions. District leaders gain real-time visibility into ICAP progress, pathway alignment, and readiness outcomes across the district.
